SCAN Health Plan is bringing in the former CEO of media giant Disney as a senior adviser as the team pushes to continue enhancing the customer experience.
Bob Chapek helmed the Walt Disney Company from 2020 to 2022 after holding leadership positions in Disney's Home Entertainment and Parks & Resources units. Chapek first met SCAN Group CEO Sachin Jain, M.D., when both served as board members for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, according to an announcement.
Jain said in the press release that he brought a potential advisory role to Chapek as Disney's consumer focus "made him perfect to help SCAN create a member-obsessed culture that reimagines member engagement—focusing on innovation, advocacy, and strategic partnerships to deliver world-class personalized support and services."
In his tenure at Disney, the parks division saw its largest investment and growth, including significant advancement at theme parks around the world and the opening of Shanghai Disneyland.
Chapek steered the ship at Disney during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which was felt across the company.
Jain said Chapek "has the expertise to help SCAN reach its goal of bringing a memorable experience to our members.”
“I am honored to advise SCAN at this pivotal moment in its 47-year history,” said Chapek in the announcement. “As someone witnessing the aging journey among my own friends and family, I look forward to using my background and knowledge to help SCAN build a legacy of exceptional member experiences.”
