Navvis Joins Healthways to Bolster Healthcare Transformation Capabilities

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Navvis & Company (Navvis), an industry leader in providing strategic consulting and change management services to health systems and hospitals throughout the nation, signed a definitive agreement today to be acquired by Healthways (NASDAQ: HWAY), the leading provider of specialized, comprehensive solutions for healthcare systems, health plans, employers and governments helping millions of people maintain or improve their health and well-being and as a result reduce overall costs. The transaction is expected to close by August 31.

Navvis will continue to be managed by CEO and Founder, Mike Farris, and become a wholly owned subsidiary, keeping its headquarters in St. Louis.

“We expect this new relationship with Healthways to greatly enhance Navvis’ ability to partner with health systems to impact the health and well-being of the populations they serve, which is not only core to their mission, but also critical to their success in the era of healthcare reform and increased accountability within the industry,” said Farris.

For more than 20 years, Navvis has provided expertise to the leadership of health systems, hospitals and physicians, and has distinguished itself as an industry leader in advancing hospital and physician relationships, healthcare services delivery and design, competitive positioning, and implementing change management for sustainable success.

By teaming with Healthways, headquartered in Franklin, TN, which delivers services throughout the US and abroad, the combined capabilities will provide for a suite of services that increase health systems’ ability to improve population health by keeping healthy people healthy, mitigating lifestyle risks and optimizing care for those with chronic illness or discharged from healthcare facilities after surgery or treatments.

“We are energized to have Navvis onboard. The company brings key components critical to industry transformation -- change management, healthcare network development, physician leadership and governance, and system technology integration -- all of which will strengthen Healthways’ ability and focus on improving the well-being of populations,” said Ben Leedle, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Healthways. “We are a true health transformation company creating real change with the ability to deliver end-to-end population health capabilities for healthcare systems, health plans and employers.”
