GE Helps Drive “TRIP” Toward Goals

Company Demonstrates Power of Dashboard for Radiology Operations at SIIM Meeting, Discusses Future Plans

BARRINGTON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- At the recent meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), GE Healthcare facilitated a demonstration of a SIIM initiative that cemented the company’s position as a leader in defining and adhering to standards-based workflow metrics. The project, a part of SIIM’s TRIP™ initiative (Transforming the Radiological Interpretation Process), leveraged the power and potential of GE’s new workflow analysis product, Centricity Analytics – Real-time Dashboard. Using the dashboard, GE utilized the vendor-neutral data provided by SIIM and, according to SIIM, “successfully met the goal of showing the benefits of an industry standard specification.” Centricity Analytics -- Real-time Dashboard featured as the only commercially available product to participate in the program.

“Efficient workflow and standard methods for measuring workflow are critical to improved delivery of healthcare. The contributions of companies like GE to the greater good of better radiology are innumerable,” said Dr. Bradley Erickson, Chairman of SIIM’s Radiology Workflow TRIP Committee. “Only with the help of these members can we truly advance the cause we’re working toward.”

“We’re proving GE Healthcare is an active contributor to defining standards-based workflow metrics by demonstrating dashboards that can be used to visualize and measure the operational efficiency of radiology,” said Don Woodlock, Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare IT. “Given the pressures around cost and increased competition faced by healthcare providers today, we believe this is a great example of the evolution of healthcare IT. Dashboards will make their way into every effective radiology department and enable them to meet quality goals.”

TRIP is a SIIM initiative to spearhead research, education, and discovery of innovative solutions to the problems facing the imaging informatics community today. For more information about Centricity Analytics, click here.
