HealthPartners opens new clinic in Cottage Grove

Facility offers unique partnership between traditional medicine and naturopathic care

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HealthPartners new clinic in Cottage Grove will offer patients a blend of traditional medicine and natural care disciplines, thanks to a unique partnership with Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHS), which will provide chiropractic services.

The 5,000-square foot clinic, in the heart of Cottage Grove at 7500 80th St. S., will also house Cottage Grove’s first urgent care facility. Urgent care will be open at nights and on weekends. In addition to chiropractic services, the clinic will have full range family practice, digital radiology and a lab on site. The clinic opens Monday, April 19.

“By combining the alternatives of chiropractic with traditional medicine for primary care, we’re able to offer our patients an innovative, one-stop experience that will meet their needs,” said Dr. Beth Averbeck, associate medical director, primary care. “Residents of the Cottage Grove area now have quick, easy access to state-of-the-art health and wellness services.” Averbeck added that patients will also benefit from the depth of experience of the clinic’s established providers from both HealthPartners and NWHS.

The wellness features may be enhanced over time with the addition of other services, depending on patients’ needs. Diagnostic and specialty services may also be expanded as the clinic’s patient base grows.

HealthPartners chose the Cottage Grove location because of the large numbers of members and existing patients in the area. HealthPartners other southeast metro clinics are in Woodbury and Inver Grove Heights.

The HealthPartners Medical Group (HPMG) is a 700-physician multi-specialty practice serving more than 400,000 patients at 22 locations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. HPMG was the highest performing medical group for primary care in the Minnesota Community Measurement 2009 Health Care Quality Report, achieving above-average ratings in 12 out of 13 possible categories.
