HealthPartners and Regions Hospital among health care’s ‘Most Wired’

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HealthPartners Clinics and Regions Hospital have been named one of health care’s “Most Wired” by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. The magazine conducts an annual survey to gauge health care organizations’ use of technology, covering everything from infrastructure and implementation to safety and communication. HealthPartners ranked among the top of survey respondents for using technology to benefit patient care and safety.

“We've made clinical excellence a foundational element of our health IT strategy and this recognition acknowledges that,” said Kim LaReau, HealthPartners vice president, IS&T care delivery system and Regions vice president and CIO. “We’re especially proud because it lets the rest of the health care world know about HealthPartners leadership in successfully implementing health care technology.”

HealthPartners has been a leader in the health care industry in investing in infrastructure and incorporating the workflow to manage the people, process and technology to achieve results. The organization has implemented advanced systems that support its care delivery and its wireless infrastructure provides support for patients and their families in addition to employees.

“Our advanced clinical systems are what really make us stand out among health care organizations,” said LaReau. “And Minnesota as a state is ahead of the rest of the country when it comes to this type of innovation.”

The Most Wired awards began in 1999, making this the 12th annual survey.
