BioImagene Collaborates with America's Best Hospitals, to Advance the Field of Digital Pathology

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BioImagene, Inc., the leading provider of innovative digital pathology solutions has added ten new academic medical centers to its roster of collaborators during the last quarter. Many of these collaborators have been named “America's Best Hospitals 2010-2011: The Honor Roll” by U.S. News and World Report.

The list of new collaborators working with BioImagene to develop the next generation of digital pathology solutions, include Arizona Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, Rush University Medical Center, Stanford Hospital & Clinics, University of California San Diego, University of Kansas Medical Center, University of Nebraska and University of Washington.

The scope of the collaborations between researchers and clinicians from these leading academic medical institutions and BioImagene include co-development of new Companion Algorithms for Companion Diagnostics for breast, prostate, lung, gastro-intestinal and liver cancer, and validation of integrated diagnostic workstations to be used by pathologists in clinical practice. The collaborators will use BioImagene’s Virtuoso web based application and iScan family of slide scanners as the platform for development and validation of these new clinical applications.
