Milliennials drive healthcare trends

Another one of our most popular articles this year was a look at five trends driven by milliennials.

Readers wanted to know what consumers ages 21 to 32 thought about healthcare so that they could best respond to their needs.

A survey by PNC Healthcare noted that this generation prefers care at retail clinics and many said they had delayed care or gone without treatment due to high costs.

"Millennials will overtake boomers as the nation's biggest consumer buying group, shifting the purchasing power," said PNC Senior Vice President Jean Hippert in an announcement about the survey findings.

"The rules of evolution dictate that those insurers and healthcare providers that survive or thrive will be those that adapt sooner than later to the preferences of this fast-paced, technology-driven generation."
