For healthcare IT stakeholders, 2015 was a notable year on many fronts.
Massive payer (Anthem, Premera) and provider (UCLA) data breaches, for instance, exposed industry-wide vulnerabilities and forced leaders to rethink how they approach cybersecurity efforts.
What's more, the Department of Defense, after months of deliberation, last summer selected a team led by Leidos and Cerner to implement an agency-wide electronic health record system, a decision that, no doubt, had reverberations throughout the industry.
In addition, the transition to ICD-10, after years of delays, finally came to pass.
In this special report, FierceHealthIT looks back at five of the most noteworthy headlines from 2015. Let us know via the comments section, or on our Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter pages, if you agree or disagree.
