Amazon Pharmacy is collaborating with digital prescription platform eNAvvi to provide clinicians with real-time medication information and delivery options through its e-prescribing workflow.
The partnership allows providers to see current pricing and stock for prescriptions, including cash pricing versus estimated insurance copays, and shows how quickly medications will reach patients, the companies said. The goal of the partnership is to support medication adherence and increase access for patients, especially for those in “pharmacy deserts.”
eNavvi CEO Simon Chang said in a statement the collaboration “fundamentally changes what physicians can see and do at the moment of prescribing.”
“Transparent pricing, real-time availability and direct routing to Amazon Pharmacy means better decisions and fewer barriers between patients and the medications they need,” Chang said.
Amazon’s digital pharmacy provides 24/7 access to licensed pharmacists and same-day and next-day delivery. Same-day prescription delivery is currently available in nearly 3,000 cities and towns across the nation, with plans to expand to nearly 4,500 by the end of 2026, the online retail giant says.
Prime members can also save an additional 80% off generics and have the opportunity to participate in Amazon Pharmacy’s $5 monthly subscription program that offers more than 60 generic medications at no additional cost.
“Amazon Pharmacy is committed to providing a transparent pharmacy experience that removes the friction preventing patients from reliably accessing the medications they are prescribed,” said Tanvi Patel, Amazon Pharmacy vice president and general manager, in a statement. “By integrating directly into the prescribing workflow with eNavvi, we are helping clinicians and patients make informed decisions about their health. We know that when patients can conveniently access their medications, they take them and live healthier lives.”
In May, Amazon Pharmacy also announced it would offer Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic pill via same-day delivery or pickup at One Medical kiosks across the U.S.
