Kaiser Permanente

Mitch Winnick

Mitch Winnik was appointed senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Downey Service Area, which serves more than 396,000 members. He replaced interim SVP Gregg Durkee. His focus will be on strengthening the patient experience and enhancing quality care for southeast Los Angeles County communities.

Winnik joined the organization five years ago, starting as the COO for its San Leandro Medical Center and progressing to regional VP for Kaiser’s Northern California Resource Stewardship in 2021.

Winnik has more than three decades of healthcare experience, having started his career as a bedside respiratory therapist and worked his way to leadership. He was previously at Hospital Corporation of America, where he was VP of operations in three geographic regions. Then he served as COO of Universal Health Services’ Corona Regional Medical Center in California and Wellington Regional Medical Center in Florida.

“Our physicians and staff are passionate about providing great care to the community and making a difference. To be able to serve and support them is a gift and a privilege,” Winnik said in the announcement.

Redesign Health

Patrick Mobley

Patrick Mobley joined Redesign Health, which builds healthcare startups, as CEO of a stealth Redesign operating company. It’s focused on enabling specialist-level supportive care for patients with chronic conditions, partnering with providers, accountable care organizations and payers working in value-based care.

Mobley holds several prior leadership roles across value-based care organizations. He previously oversaw strategy and operations for the mid-Atlantic region at Bright Health, where he led more than 500% market growth in under two years and oversaw a $1 billion P&L.

He is also a former executive director at Aledade, where he led the company’s largest market and growth from 20 practice partners to more than 220 in under a year. He also served in multiple capacities at Evolent Health, leading its value-based strategy and operations for two health systems.

Talkiatry

Psychiatric care provider Talkiatry is expanding its talent base with two executives: Allison Holt, M.D., as medical director and Todd Yu as chief financial officer.

Allison Holt

Holt will be responsible for stewarding Talkiatry’s outpatient practice model by offering clinical leadership and mentoring to its team. Holt is board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry, with 15 years of experience. Previously, she served as physician chief of the Mental Health and Addiction Service Line at M Health Fairview, the largest provider of mental healthcare in Minnesota, and vice chair of clinical affairs at the University of Minnesota’s department of psychiatry.

“The well-being of our patients will always be my main priority, and with my new role at Talkiatry I’m thrilled to help lead our psychiatrists in reaching more people with the empathetic mental health support they need,” Holt said in an announcement.

Todd Yu

Yu will drive the company’s growth and strategy execution, bringing two decades of financial management and strategic planning leadership experience in healthcare and finance. He previously served as CFO of Upward Health, a risk-bearing home-based medical group. He is excited at the chance to “contribute to the company’s overall strategy and mission by implementing value-based care,” per the announcement.
