Long famous for its Rose Bowl game and parade, the city of Pasadena, California, will soon be the site of Kaiser Permanente's new medical school, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. Kaiser Permanente announced in December its plans to open a medical school and will build the facility on land it already owns in Pasadena, a site it chose because it is close to major freeways, public transportation and affordable housing. The healthcare provider said it hopes to attract a diverse student body. Groundbreaking is planned for next year and the first class of about 40 to 50 students will graduate in 2019. Article
