Government insurance giant Centene has named Tanya McNally as its new chief people officer, the company announced Tuesday.
In the new role, she'll lead Centene's human resources efforts and develop strategies to ensure success for the company's employees. Centene said that developing and retaining the insurer's 74,000-strong workforce will be a key focus for McNally.
"I look forward to Tanya's leadership and continued success in promoting talent growth and innovation," said Sarah London, Centene CEO, in the announcement. "Tanya brings a wealth of experience to the leadership team and believes in the profound impact our workforce has on driving our mission to improve the health of our communities, one person at a time."
McNally has served as the regional vice president of human resources at the company and joined Centene as part of its acquisition of rival government payer WellCare Health Plans. She was WellCare's vice president of human resources for nearly 10 years before joining Centene.
McNally has also held HR roles at Citigroup and Lehman Brothers.
