White House releases new birth control coverage mandates

The White House released its latest set of mandates to address employers' religious objections to providing free birth control for their female workers, reports the Associated Press. After the Supreme Court ruled last year that some private companies are exempt from the requirements, based on religious grounds, the new rules state that female employees can still receive free contraceptives even if their employers opt out; neither the employer nor the employee would be charged. However, if companies choose the opt-out option, they are unable to be publicly traded on the stock markets. Article
