MyHumana Mobile App Continues Momentum Earning “People’s Choice” Award

Humana honored with two recent American Business Awards highlighting company’s growing contributions to the mobile space

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Building on its continuing innovation in the mobile space, Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) recently received two top Stevie Awards® for mobile innovation. The Stevies follow on the heels of MyHumana Mobile’s February Appy award presented by MediaPost at the Online Media, Marketing and Advertising (OMMA) Global Conference and Expo.

The Stevie Awards – People’s Choice Award – Best New Smartphone or Tablet App and a subcategory award for Best New Product/Service were awarded to Humana for its MyHumana app.

“We are proud to win The People’s Choice award as it represents the voice of the member and was driven by their votes and support,” said Brian LeClaire, Humana’s senior vice president and chief service and information officer. “Humana’s Mobile Business and IT teams have worked hard to build world-class applications that help make healthy lifestyles more attainable for our members. This recognition illustrates the value of mobile apps in health and energizes our people to continue to drive innovation in the mobile space.”

MyHumana Mobile brings personalized and relevant tools and resources to Humana members whenever and wherever they need them. The Mobile app gives members immediate access to important resources – drug pricing, health care provider searches, an urgent-care locator, spending-account balances, ID card details and other great features.

The MyHumana app has more than 25,000 iPhone and nearly 11,000 Android downloads (as of July 2011) and continues to be a popular resource for Humana members on-the-go.

The Stevie Awards were presented in more than 40 categories. More than 2,800 entries were entered on behalf of organizations large and small across a broad spectrum of industries. Stevie Award finalists and winners were judged by hundreds of executives across the country. More than 140,000 votes were cast in this year’s People's Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products. Humana joins other top organizations receiving 2011 Stevie Awards including Apple, GE, Groupon, Whole Foods Market, and Hewlett Packard to name a few.
