Innovative Engagement Strategy to Drive Wellness Campaign
OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PayFlex Systems USA, Inc. (“PayFlex”), a leading consumer-directed health (CDH) benefits administrator, today announced that Massachusetts Health Connector (“Health Connector”) has selected PayFlex as their wellness solution for their participating small businesses. As one of the first benefit administrators to integrate reimbursement accounts with wellness engagement, PayFlex offers an innovative, market-leading solution. Health Connector, considered the innovator and leader within healthcare reform, and an independent state agency for Massachusetts small businesses, is embarking on a new initiative to provide a comprehensive wellness program that meets the needs of its participating small businesses.
Through this agreement with the Health Connector, PayFlex and its wellness partner LiveHealthier will design and implement targeted wellness programs that will drive awareness and engagement to employees of participating small businesses. The Health Connector’s decision was based on the “one size fits one” innovative engagement strategy that was flexible and scalable to meet the needs of the participating small businesses. "Providing premium relief for small business owners is one of our top priorities. Not only can companies save money on health insurance, but they may also benefit from a healthier and more productive work force," said Glen Shor, Executive Director for Health Connector.
Wellness Programs on the Rise
Employers of all sizes are embarking on wellness initiatives to complement their consumer-directed healthcare programs. These employers understand the need to create and promote a culture of health which goes hand in hand with a consumer-directed strategy to successfully control health care costs. According to the Towers Watson Health Care Reform Survey Report, 86% of employers are planning on investing in wellness and health promotion programs over the next three years.
“Health reform has deepened employers’ commitment to health management programs that can improve employees’ well-being, and control employer and employee costs,” said Rob Butler, President of PayFlex. “We are thrilled that the Connector recognized the consumer engagement value of our wellness offerings and specifically our wellness partner LiveHealthier.”
The Health Connector will be offering its participating employers a comprehensive, packaged wellness solution that includes individual, secure portal access to all eligible employees, tailored health assessments, interactive health education including access to personalized health management tools and engaging population health challenges.
“Through the Connector, small business employers can now reap the benefits of comprehensive wellness programs that they might not have been able to get on their own,” said Mary Moslander, CEO of LiveHealthier. “Such programs create a culture of health by engaging employees in their individual wellbeing and have a positive impact on an organization’s healthcare costs.”
