Humana buys employee assistance firm Harris, Rothenberg

Humana has acquired employee assistance program provider Harris, Rothenberg International, which helps companies manage their employees' emotional, financial or legal problems, as well as childcare needs. Humana hopes the new deal will help the companies it contracts with reduce their healthcare spending and address employee productivity problems, iStockAnalyst reported. The deal also will help Humana manage its own internal customer needs. "Employee assistance programs and work-life programs are key elements of Humana's total well-being approach to helping people lead healthier lives," said Sean Slovenski, leader of Humana's Health and Productivity Solutions unit. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Article
