Feds issue incorrect subsidies

Hundreds of thousands of people may have received larger subsidies than they deserve, due to inaccurate income information, reports the Washington Post. Some consumers accidentally overstated their incomes, which will cause subsidy overpayments. Meanwhile, other consumers have understated their incomes, which could lead the Internal Revenue Service to demand they return the money. Ongoing technical glitches may be the root of issue--incomes listed on insurance applications do not line up with those on file with the IRS. However, administration officials likely won't determine what proportion are overpayments or underpayments until sometime this summer. Article
