HARRISBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Barrie Baker, MD, MBA, has accepted the position of medical director for HealthAmerica’s Medicaid program in Pennsylvania (CoventryCares) and its sister Medicaid program in Maryland (Diamond Plan). In this role, Baker will manage medical affairs for both plans.
Prior to joining HealthAmerica, Baker served as medical director for Keystone Mercy Health Plan in Philadelphia. Before joining the health insurance industry, Baker served seven years in a mix of clinical and administrative positions as a family physician in underserved areas.
Baker received a Bachelor of Arts in architecture at Temple University. After practicing architecture for several years, she returned to school and received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Baker also earned a master’s degree in health care administration from Eastern University.
