Booz Allen Hamilton will now serve as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Marketplace System Integrator (MSI), leading governance and technical coordination for the agency's set of systems while ensuring compliance is met. The MSI program covers system integration, release management and facilitates communication in processes for online health insurance exchanges. The partnership will allow CMS to deliver new functions, improvements or changes to existing technology and procedures, the announcement says. Meanwhile, CMS issued a justification to obtain approval for an eight-month extension of its contract with Quality Software Services Inc., in order to obtain additional quality assurance testing services from the Optum subsidiary, which is responsible for performing testing activities for all exchanges.
