Coventry Health Care of Nebraska selected to administer benefits for the Nebraska Comprehensive Insurance Pool
OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Coventry Health Care of Nebraska has been selected as the new health plan administrator for the Nebraska Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool (CHIP), a state program designed to provide health insurance for Nebraska residents unable to obtain affordable coverage without restrictions due to medical reasons.
Coventry Health Care of Nebraska is an established, local health insurance carrier serving nearly 220,000 members in the region and is currently a vendor for the Nebraska Medicaid program.

The Nebraska CHIP Board of Directors selected Coventry as health plan administrator during the Dec. 21 Board meeting following a formal Request for Proposal process. Coventry will administer benefits for the NE CHIP program effective April 1, 2012.
