Washington, DC -- Avalere Health CEO Dan Mendelson and Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care President Alan Rosenbloom will hold a Monday, August 15, 2:00 p.m. ET media teleconference to detail a new Avalere Health analysis that details on a national and state basis how a recent Final Rule published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will cut Medicare nursing home payments by an estimated $79 billion over ten years.

Dan Mendelson will detail the data itself, and Alan Rosenbloom will discuss how the Medicare funding reductions will negatively impact not just patient care -- as state Medicaid cuts also squeeze facility operations -- but also the negative local economic implications. America's nursing home sector is the nation's second largest health facility employer, and the CMS Rule will weaken national and state economic activity as policymakers wrestle with growing the U.S. economy and jobs.
