MANCHESTER, N.H., Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Lisa M. Guertin has been named president and general manager of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire. Her appointment is effective January 1, 2011.
Guertin, who previously served as New Hampshire's state plan president from 2004- 2008, will assume responsibility for the management of all group health business in New Hampshire. She will be involved in corporate strategy, planning and execution, and will serve as the primary contact for state regulators and elected officials.
For the past three years, Guertin has served as senior vice president of Commercial Marketing and Product for Anthem's parent company. In that role, she was responsible for product management, product development, and marketing for the local group, national accounts, specialty and UniCare customers, representing more than 80 percent of the company's membership.

"She brings a wealth of experience and business acumen to the local market and has a very keen understanding of her New Hampshire customers."
Guertin has been with the company since 1990 and previously held a number of leadership positions within the organization. She has more than 25 years of diverse experience in the health insurance industry including sales, marketing, operations, and communications.

Guertin holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Boston University in Boston, MA, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT.
