Viet Nguyen, MD, Joins Systems Made Simple as Chief Medical Information Officer

Practicing internist and pediatrician brings expertise in healthcare, data integrity and VA implementation

SYRACUSE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Systems Made Simple, Inc. (SMS), a leading provider of IT systems and services to support critical architecture, data and application challenges in the healthcare industry, today announced Viet Nguyen, MD, as SMS’ Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). As CMIO, Dr. Nguyen will work with SMS towards the common goal of improving continuity of care and patient safety through integrated technology.

  • Serving as an expert and thought leader on improving patient treatment and safety through technology;
  • Ensuring SMS technologies set optimal health standards in order to achieve true interoperability; and
  • Engaging with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD) and other healthcare leaders to further develop solutions.

Prior to joining Systems Made Simple, Dr. Nguyen worked with KForce eGovernment Solutions and Veteran Administration Office of Information as a terminologist and senior business analyst; Park City Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, and CopperView Medical Center as an internist and pediatrician; and Veterans Administration Medical Center and University of Utah as medical informatics fellow.

Dr. Nguyen is currently a practicing internist and pediatrician at Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Associates, PLLC.
