SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Equation, a data driven healthcare consulting firm, announces today that Howard Salmon has joined the firm as Principal. Mr. Salmon, who is based in San Diego, will help address the multiple, complex issues facing physicians and hospitals across the country as they contend with the economics and regulations of healthcare reform.

Mr. Salmon brings over 20 years of experience serving as a hospital executive in state and federal government organizations and the for-profit and non-profit sectors. He has been involved in hospital and health care management, business development and acquisitions, and is an expert in coaching physician leaders and hospital senior executives to effectively work together. Mr. Salmon is also a seasoned consultant, entering the field in 1993 as executive managing director of Phase 2 Consulting. He also served as vice-president of Premier Consulting Solutions, which purchased Phase 2.
Mr. Salmon is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives. He serves on the faculty of the Independent Studies Program at the University of Minnesota and The Institute for Medical Leadership.
