Prime Healthcare Services Joins Inland Empire HIE

Inland Empire Health Information Exchange (IEHIE) announced today that it has formed a partnership with Prime Healthcare Services that will link patient health information to all of Prime HealthCare Services’ hospitals across the country. Prime HealthCare Services brings an additional twenty-three (23) Hospitals across five (5) states including fourteen (14) in California to IEHIE’s existing population of hospitals, providers and health plans. IEHIE offers an enhanced Health Information Exchange (HIE) service, which allows doctors, clinics, hospitals and other healthcare providers to electronically review and access medical records, resulting in timely, safer and improved quality of healthcare for patients, particularly those in underserved and disadvantaged populations.

Partnering with IEHIE gives Prime Healthcare Services access to Orion Health HIE, a robust platform that includes Orion Health Clinical Portal, Clinical Data Repository and Rhapsody Integration Engine. Orion Health HIE provides clinicians with secure, web-based access to the most up-to-date patient information and to a range of capabilities that support further improvements in care, including automatic reporting of immunizations, electronic labs, and syndromic surveillance data required for public health reporting and achieving Meaningful Use. IEHIE will also roll out additional Orion Health HIE modules, including the Meaningful Use-certified EMR Lite, to support physician adoption of electronic health records (EHRs), Orion Health Patient Portal, to encourage patient engagement in care, Orion Health Business Intelligence tools to facilitate improvements in efficiency, all of which will be immediately available to Prime HealthCare Services.
