Preliminary iEHR to roll out in 2014

Medical facilities in San Antonio and Hampton Roads, Va., will launch a preliminary version of the integrated electronic health record created by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense in 2014, FierceGovernmentIT reports. The announcement, made earlier this week on a press call by VA CIO Roger Baker, comes on the heels of Harris Corp. replacing ASM Research as the contractor for the iEHRs enterprise service bus last week. The overall iEHR project is expected to cost roughly $4 billion, according to FierceGovernmentIT. Article
