Network Health Plan Chooses Lumeris to Improve Quality, Cost of Health Care in Northeast Wisconsin

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lumeris, an affiliate of 4.5 star Medicare Advantage operator Essence Healthcare, today announced that Network Health Plan, a part of the Affinity Health System, has licensed the company’s popular Maestro population health management technology to improve the quality and lower the cost of health care delivered to more than 42,000 members in northeast Wisconsin.

Specific terms of the multi-year agreement, which includes the provision of certain specialized quality improvement and value-based payment consulting services, were not disclosed.

“I am confident our partnership with Lumeris will prove to be the most important initiative ever undertaken by our organization,” said Edward Scanlan, MD, chief medical officer at Network Health Plan. “This partnership gives us the tools necessary to take better care of our members – especially those lacking a strong relationship with a primary care physician.”

Scanlan said he and his colleagues evaluated other vendors and found Lumeris’ product to be superior both in its ability to collect and analyze disparate data from across the entire health care system and in the ways it supports collaboration between physicians and managed care executives.

“With the help of Lumeris, managed care organizations and multispecialty physician groups across the country are making substantial improvements in physician engagement and health care quality,” said Richard Jones, president of Lumeris. “We’re pleased that another one of the nation’s highest performing health plans has chosen us to help make further improvements to the cost, quality and coordination of health care.”
