MEDHOST Advanced Perioperative Information Management System (PIMS) has been tested and certified under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This EHR software from MEDHOST is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“MEDHOST’s Advanced Perioperative Information Management System focuses on clinicians’ needs and fits within existing perioperative workflows, generating the high degree of clinical adoption needed to improve patient care and safety. Additionally, providers will take steps to meet the Meaningful Use criteria required to be eligible for ARRA incentive funds,” said Craig Herrod, president of MEDHOST. “MEDHOST PIMS also helps improve operational and financial performance by increasing staff efficiency, optimizing room utilization and turnover, among other benefits.”

Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the Meaningful Use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating Meaningful Use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

MEDHOST PIMS, which met the requirements for EHR Modular Inpatient certification, is a comprehensive, clinician-driven suite of applications that supports the entire continuum of perioperative care, from initial consult, complete anesthesia and nurse charting and decision support to post-surgery discharge. MEDHOST PIMS puts providers on the path to attestation for the 2014 Edition of Meaningful Use, while helping them comply with the federal healthcare IT guidelines.

This EHR module is 2014 Edition-compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

MEDHOST PIMS was certified as a 2014 Edition Modular Inpatient EHR on June 13, 2013, and its certification number is 06132013‐2004‐6. Modules certified include 170.314(a)(4, 5, 9, 11, 14, 17); 170.314(d)(1, 2, 3, 5); and 170.314(g)(1, 4). No clinical quality measures tested and additional software used includes Windows Active Directory.
