Keane Healthcare Solutions Division Enters 2011 with Positive Momentum for the Keane Optimum™ Product Suite

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Keane, Inc., an NTT DATA Company and a U.S.-based IT services and healthcare information technology firm, continues to showcase its momentum in the Healthcare IT market during the HIMSS11 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida. On the heels of several client wins and partnerships in 2010, Keane Optimum™, a one-source solution for healthcare organizations, received ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification as a ‘Complete Acute Care EHR' (electronic health record) by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), further solidifying the company’s position in the Healthcare IT industry.

“Our Healthcare Solutions Division is well poised to continue building on a strong foundation and achieving accelerated momentum through our expanded solutions and services,” said Michael Thomas, executive vice president of Keane’s Health and Life Sciences business. “We’ve already seen great traction for Keane Optimum so far, as nearly 50 percent of our existing client base has already contracted to use the full solution. Keane remains focused on providing a powerful suite of software that is designed to eliminate the expense often associated with managing discrete IT solutions in the healthcare environment. Our recent momentum is indicative of Keane’s global strength, and we look forward to continued success.”

A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics found that adoption of electronic health records among hospitals and physicians increased by almost 50 percent in 2010, with predictions of continued growth in the near future. These findings further validate the need for Keane's healthcare information systems, which help providers increase efficiency, reduce medical errors and maximize reimbursement.

The newly minted ‘Complete Acute Care EHR’ Keane Optimum suite was selected by Chadron Community Hospital, a critical access facility, in September 2010. Specifically, Keane Optimum was selected to meet the hospital’s goals of reducing redundancy, improving efficiency and, most importantly, reducing medical errors.

The Optimum solution and Keane’s integrated suite of healthcare software products are installed in hundreds of hospitals and thousands of post-acute care facilities in the U.S. Additional recent projects include:

  • A deal with Evangelical Community Hospital, a private, not-for-profit healthcare facility that leveraged the ARRA-certified Keane Optimum full product suite to achieve “meaningful use” certification for its inpatient clinical systems;
  • A collaboration with Ormed Information Systems, Ltd. to combine Keane Optimum with the ORMED MIS™ system allows Keane to offer a comprehensive and sophisticated General Accounting suite of products to the market.
  • Contract extensions with University Physicians Hospital and Ernest Health, Inc. to scale up the Keane Optimum Patcom™ offering, a move to improve overall operations with a comprehensive, one-source solution that assists in improving both financial performance and patient care.

At HIMSS, Keane will unveil its new mobile technology, Keane Optimum MobileTM, a cloud-based, device agnostic initiative to port the existing Optimum system over Apple, Windows and Android devices. If you are interested in learning more about Keane’s existing and planned offering of healthcare software, please stop by booth #1548 at HIMSS on February 20th – 24th or visit www.keane.com/hsd.
