ICA Successfully Completes 2012 IHE Connectathon, Will Participate in HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase

ICA Successfully Completes 26 Tests with Vendor Partners

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ICA (www.icainformatics.com), a leading provider of interoperability technology that enables health information exchange (HIE), announced that it successfully completed and passed the 2012 IHE Connectathon. The goal of Connectathon is to test interoperability between and among other systems vendors in order to ensure the smooth and accurate flow of clinical data between different information systems utilizing IHE interoperability standards.

“During last year’s Connectathon, ICA successfully tested its Registry component of CareExchange, and this year we successfully tested our Patient Identity Manager and Patient Matching Engine,” said Tim Dunnington, ICA’s Director of Interoperability. “ICA completed and passed 26 tests designed to foster compliance with standards, electronic health record system connectivity and the interoperable exchange of patient health records. These tests were conducted with 10 distinct partners, including Allscripts, CPSI, eMDs, Greenway and NextGen.”

HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase

ICA will also be participating in HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase, Breaking Barriers to Interoperable Healthcare, an exhibit that focuses on educating stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities of interoperability in healthcare information technology. ICA will be discussing and demonstrating its ICAetc forum as well as its new solution, CareAlign® CareExchange, the foundation for its standards-based interoperability platform.

ICAetc (http://icaetc.com) is a free and open forum for software vendors to test the interoperability of their programs with the goal of ensuring that multiple disparate systems are able to connect and communicate. Vendor participants in ICAetc currently include Allscripts, Askesis Development Group, AthenaHealth, CPSI, eClinicalWorks, eMDs, Meditech, NextGen, Orion and Sage Healthcare Division. CareExchange acts as a technology infrastructure to support the seamless document sharing of multiple standards based XDS hospital systems and ambulatory provider EMR systems across an IDN or community. CareExchange is vendor agnostic and fully able to integrate data with any installed EMR product.

About ICA

ICA was established to take innovative technology developed by Vanderbilt Medical Center to the broader healthcare market, and now delivers a comprehensive health information exchange (HIE) and care management solution to hospitals, IDNs, communities and states. This patient-centered modular approach offers immediate value and return-on-investment through the delivery of clinical information to the point-of-care improving quality while reducing costs. The solution suite, or volume set, includes CareAlign CareExchange, CareConnect, CareCollaborate, CareMeasure and CareManage. Each volume provides a hospital, integrated delivery network (IDN), or region the technology necessary to progressively exchange clinical information, increase care collaboration and manage healthcare risk across the continuum of care with the goal of improving patient outcomes while reducing costs.
