HealthTech Holdings Inc. (HealthTech), a health information technology holding company that owns Healthcare Management Systems Inc. (HMS), MEDHOST and Sentry Healthcare Services, has named two healthcare IT industry veterans to key operations and sales positions as the company continues to experience broad demand for its comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) in both traditional and hosted models, its emergency department information system (EDIS), and its meaningful use consulting services.

Vice President Stan Gilbreath will oversee client services for both HMS and MEDHOST, while Vice President Eric Anderton will lead new account sales for HMS.

Gilbreath has more than 25 years of technology and software experience; he joins HealthTech from Allscripts where he led the company’s professional services division. Previously, Gilbreath spent nearly 10 years with McKesson where his roles included managing 300 professionals that routinely had more than 225 projects simultaneously under way.

Anderton, who earlier in his career was a regional vice president of sales for HMS, rejoins the company from Jackson Key Practice Solutions, LLC, an EHR sales, implementation and support company that he co-founded in 2009. Anderton has more than 15 years of healthcare IT experience, including his first tenure with HMS during which he was responsible for direct sales and sales management in the Eastern half of the U.S.

“HMS continues to experience strong demand for our easy-to-use EHR on both our traditional and hosted platforms, and MEDHOST’s EDIS is extending its market leadership. Additionally, our strength in meaningful use consulting is generating more opportunities with new and existing clients,” said Steve Starkey, executive vice president of operations for HealthTech. “Eric is one of the most successful sales people in HMS history, and we’re pleased to have him back. Stan has distinguished himself as an excellent manager and has a successful track record managing multiple complex implementations in both traditional and SaaS environments. HealthTech is an even stronger company with the addition of Eric and Stan.”
