Healthland Celebrates Rural Hospitals Rising to the Challenge to Demonstrate Meaningful Use and Improve Patient Care

Healthland to host record number of clients at Connect 11 in Nashville, October 17-20

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information technology solutions for rural hospitals, today announced it will host Connect 11, a premier event for Healthland clients, in Nashville, October 17-20. The event will include: a complete Meaningful Use track and education credit courses; professional development classes; sessions presented by Healthland partners and clients; and product demonstrations. Attendees will also have an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with Healthland executives and product experts for questions and guidance to help them achieve the maximum benefit of electronic health records (EHR) for their rural healthcare facilities.

“Connect 11 will not only provide incredible value to our clients but will also be a celebration of rural hospitals rising to the challenge to face the many pressures they have in today’s healthcare environment,” said Angie Franks, Healthland president and CEO. “Last year was a tumultuous time in our industry as healthcare reform was signed into law, patient volumes continued on a downward trend and hospital margins suffered. Yet, with all of this, our clients continue to do amazing things and we are especially proud of those who have attested for Meaningful Use. At Healthland, we’ve worked to meet these challenges with the launch our new solution, Healthland Centriq, and we have successfully implemented it in over 20 rural hospitals across the country. The success and interest in this product has been substantial, and because our clients have asked for it, we will provide them with additional sessions, product demonstrations and client presentations that reveal the solution’s many benefits at Connect 11. We also look forward to celebrating our clients’ success of Meaningful Use attestation and their achievements in providing quality healthcare to their family, friends and neighbors.”

At this year’s Connect 11 client conference, Meaningful Use continues to be a hot topic. This important track will focus on the many aspects of demonstrating Meaningful Use and securing the maximum benefit from the CMS EHR Incentive Programs for both hospitals and eligible professionals. Many Healthland clients will also give presentations about their experiences with the Meaningful Use attestation process and how to receive those critical incentive payments.

“Connect 11 is a unique conference for healthcare professionals, said Tracey Schroeder, Healthland Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Our client conference provides the opportunity for education and networking with sessions designed for a wide variety of facility roles and all levels of expertise. Whether learning best practices with existing products or gaining information about new products, we provide over 160 educational sessions, client presentations and product demonstrations that will help our clients drive new efficiencies, increase accuracies, and improve the quality of patient care.”

At Connect 11, Healthland is the host to speakers who will highlight legislative issues affecting rural hospitals; offer business management strategies; and provide opportunities for professional development. This year’s event will feature: the National Rural Health Association CEO, Alan Morgan; professional development speakers Karen Purves and Kent Rader; and business consultant, James Puiia.

With more than 20 years of experience in health policy development at the state and federal level, Alan Morgan will take an interactive look at issues shaping healthcare in rural America in his Healthland client session. Karen’s Purves inspiring, entertaining and funny approach has built a solid client base through results oriented programs. She will provide information about effective communication and how to reduce negativity in the hospital setting. Spending years as a hospital CEO and CEO, Kent Rader understands the challenging climate. His session will help attendees learn and experience how laughter can reduce stress and build quality organizations. James Puiia brings his 30 years of experience in healthcare financial management and consulting to Connect 11. In his presentation, he will discuss how to remain relevant in an era of accountable care.

Healthland’s partners also play a large role for rural healthcare professionals, providing the solutions they need to be successful.
