Mr. Greenwell joins ICF’s staff of public health, health care, health information technology (IT), environmental health, communications, and toxicology professionals, strengthening ICF’s highly regarded public health group, supporting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and especially the CDC. Mr. Greenwell’s extensive involvement with health and risk communication across the U.S. federal government and the health care industry will help ICF to continue its expanding role in supporting organizations focused on helping Americans lead healthier lives.

“We are very pleased that Mike Greenwell is joining our team. He is highly regarded as an expert in communication and public health, and has experience across multiple sectors such as health care, public health, and environmental science,” said Isabel Reiff, executive vice president for ICF International. “Mike will play a critical role in distinguishing ICF as a center for excellence for consulting services and technology solutions for public health clients, increasing ICF’s profile as a high-end health science organization.”

“Mike will be responsible for engaging all of ICF’s capabilities around health-related contracts,” said David Cotton, senior vice president for ICF International. “ICF offers a wide range of services to our health clients, especially the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which ICF has supported for many years.”

Mr. Greenwell supported the CDC as a consultant for eight years while vice president for marketing and health communications at Danya International in Atlanta, and while leading a successful health care practice for Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, also in Atlanta. Additionally, as an employee with the CDC, he served for 14 years as the communications director for two large centers within CDC: the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.

As a result of his accomplishments, Mr. Greenwell serves on numerous boards including for the American Heart Association and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, and has served as a senior consultant to the Arthritis Foundation, Chronic Fatigue and Immune Deficiency Syndrome Association, and the Interstitial Cystitis Association.
