EDIMS Incorporates Callibra’s Discharge 1-2-3 into EHR to Automate Emergency Department Discharge Process

Computerized Discharge Instructions to Enhance Value of EDIMS’ ED EHR and Help Hospitals Achieve Higher Quality and Efficiency

LIVINGSTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- EDIMS LLC, a leading provider of interoperable emergency department (ED) information management systems for hospitals, today announced a multiyear agreement to license Callibra Inc.’s Discharge 1-2-3 solution, which automates the ED discharge process, including providing patient specific instructions and prescriptions. EDIMS will incorporate Discharge 1-2-3 into its ED electronic health record (EHR) to enhance the value of its offerings by helping hospital clients further improve care delivery, patient communication and clinician efficiency.

“After evaluating three vendors, we selected Callibra’s Discharge 1-2-3 because it offers the most comprehensive, robust and flexible ED discharge solution in the market,” said Shane Hade, EDIMS’ CEO. “Its discharge instructions are written in lay language, which enhances patient-clinician communication and patient adherence to the care plan, resulting in higher quality and superior outcomes, including fewer readmissions. The easy-to-understand instructions improve ED efficiency by streamlining workflow and reducing the volume of patient calls to ED nurses and physicians, thus increasing clinician productivity, revenue and savings for hospitals.”

EDIMS also chose Callibra because Discharge 1-2-3 can be easily customized to individual physician preferences and is available in several foreign languages, including Spanish, Russian and Chinese. In fact, every title is translated into every language supported. “The agreement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to continually enhance and provide EDs with a solution that meets the needs of nurses, physicians, patients and hospitals,” continued Hade.

According to Christopher Galassi, MD, CEO and technical director at Callibra, “We are pleased that EDIMS has selected our application to enable its ED clients to positively affect the quality and safety of care, clinician efficiency and patient experience. We look forward to partnering with EDIMS to assist hospitals in addressing their business needs and empowering patients to take better care of themselves at home.”
