Dundy County Hospital Selects Healthland Electronic Health Records Solution

Critical Access Hospital expects to meet Meaningful Use with Healthland ONC-ATCB-certified EHR solution summer 2011

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information technology solutions for rural hospitals, today announced that Nebraska-based Dundy County Hospital has purchased Healthland’s ONC-ATCB-certified Electronic Health Records (EHR) solution. Dundy County Hospital is a 14-bed critical access facility, with two clinics, that serves southwestern Nebraska, northeastern Colorado and portions of Kansas. The hospital expects to be live on the Healthland EHR Solution and meet Meaningful Use by Q3 2011.

“Our number one priority at Dundy County Hospital is to provide our community with the best possible healthcare,” said Rita Jones, Dundy County Hospital CEO. “We are committed to doing whatever it takes to get there, including finding the right technology partner for the job. We recently implemented an EHR from a different vendor but after working with that system for over two years, we realized it was not a good fit for our staff or our patients. After a vendor search and comprehensive review process, we selected Healthland. The solution’s ease-of-use, integration capabilities, and one-patient-chart across the continuum of care were key in our selection.”

“When officials at Dundy County Hospital reached out to us, we were impressed by the large geographical area they serve and the level of specialty healthcare and surgeries they provide for the community,” said Jim Anderson, Healthland senior vice president of sales and services. “As the discussion continued, we determined that Healthland was a great fit for their business and patient care needs. Our solutions are built and designed for small hospitals, providing one patient chart that maintains patient data from the clinic and the hospital – an important feature for the healthcare provider. Ultimately, Dundy Hospital’s goal is to quickly achieve Meaningful Use. We are confident our products and services will help get them there.”

The Meaningful Use-certified, Healthland Inpatient EHR is a central repository of all patient information to improve quality of care, patient safety and operational efficiencies. From order entry to the secure viewing, sharing and retrieval of patient medical records, the Healthland EHR automates information management at every point of patient care, admission through discharge.

“With the Healthland solution, we expect to improve community wellness by tracking important data such as immunizations, mammography and glucose testing,” added Jones. “The easy-to-use EHR will also help reduce medical errors, improve charge capture and help with our insurance management, which is especially important when serving communities in three different states. With the additional services and support Healthland offers, we are confident we made the right choice in technology providers.”
