Strategic Agreement Supports Quality-Based Performance Incentive Programs

LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DiagnosisOne, the clinical decision support and analytics company, today announced a strategic agreement with Allscripts, the leading global provider of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other technologies essential to creating a Connected Community of Health™, to integrate its industry leading smartPath healthcare informatics platform with the Allscripts Professional EHR™.

Under the agreement, Allscripts will offer DiagnosisOne’s advanced clinical decision support (CDS) and HEDIS quality measurement capabilities to its Professional EHR clients, enabling them to continuously measure and improve care quality, reduce costs and provide greater access to information at the patient and population levels. These capabilities will help Allscripts Professional EHR clients participate in a number of rewards programs offered by private and government payers that align financial incentives with clinical performance. Additionally, DiagnosisOne will provide real-time Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) patient alerts, along with reporting to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on PQRS measures, for Professional EHR clients who participate in the PQRS incentive program.

“Our clients count on us to continuously evolve our solutions and deliver capabilities like clinical decision support, which plays an increasingly important role in effective patient treatment and ongoing quality improvement,” said Lee Shapiro, President of Allscripts. “We are excited to collaborate with DiagnosisOne in providing strong CDS, clinical analytics technology and a vast library of evidence-based content to help our clients measure, inform and improve the care they provide their patients.”

Mansoor Khan, Sc.D., CEO of DiagnosisOne, said, “As one of the world’s most widely known and respected providers of electronic health records, Allscripts recognizes the value of providing the IT tools physicians need to increase care quality. By combining Professional EHR with DiagnosisOne’s smartPath solutions, we are delivering key capabilities for measuring, informing and improving the care process. We’re thrilled to be working with Allscripts to enable healthcare organizations to lower costs and achieve continuous quality improvement in the care they provide to patients.”

DiagnosisOne’s smartConsult module seamlessly integrates with Professional EHR to deliver advanced clinical decision support in real-time at the point of care, providing patient-specific, clinical-quality information and alerts to physicians to support both preventive and chronic-condition management, and improved care coordination. Allscripts clients will also be able to leverage DiagnosisOne’s smartWatch analytics and reporting module to measure physician encounters in accordance with nationally recognized HEDIS quality measures to improve the overall efficiency of the health care delivery system, while also evaluating other measures such as generic-drug dispensing rate, mail-order usage, readmission rate and health-risk-assessment completion. Allscripts selected DiagnosisOne to conduct PQRS reporting to CMS based on its unique real-time alerting functionality, which integrates with the PQRS reporting system to positively impact and improve the quality of care, at the point of care.
