Dell Recognized by Epic as “Community Connect Certified” for Turnkey EMR Services to Healthcare Providers

  • Epic evaluates areas such as healthcare industry and consultant expertise, Epic application knowledge, IT simplification leadership, scalability and demand by Epic customers.
  • Positive feedback and satisfaction from joint customers of Epic and Dell Services is a significant factor in achieving certification.

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dell is the first company to be named by Epic as a “Community Connect Certified” consulting services firm for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Practice Management (EPM) services. Epic, which builds integrated software for hospitals and healthcare organizations, based the certification on a variety of factors, including feedback from customers and Dell’s healthcare industry capabilities.

The goal of Epic’s “Community Connect” certification is to help provider organizations identify service firms with both the breadth of capabilities and the track record of success to effectively connect various healthcare providers in a community to a single shared record system. By extending out a successful EMR implementation to affiliated physicians and community hospitals, communities can improve patient safety, enhance access to clinical information, comply with complex regulatory requirements, and increase efficiency –– all while providing a level of security unmatched by paper records. Dell Services takes on the technical and administrative complexity of such an initiative, allowing health systems to focus on optimizing care delivery and patient service.

Dell offers customers a variety of options to address their individualized needs, including program planning, application and infrastructure implementation and hosting, configuration and installation of hardware platforms, physician outreach and marketing assistance, staff training, clinical workflow and revenue cycle optimization services, reporting services, financing options, and ongoing technical and clinical helpdesk support. Today, Dell hosts EMR and EPM software for more than 40,000 clinicians.

Quote:

“We are excited to be working with Epic customers to link entire communities of physician offices and hospitals on a shared EMR. The criteria for the Community Connect program are pretty rigorous, so I look at this certification as confirmation that Dell’s commitment to customer service is paying off.” --Berk Smith, Vice President and General Manager, Dell Healthcare & Life Sciences Services
