Delaware Valley Hospital Connects to Local RHIO with AOI

Accent on Integration’s Accelero Connect interface enables data sharing and supports meaningful use requirements

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Accent on Integration (AOI), a leading provider of integration software and medical device connectivity solutions, today announced that Delaware Valley Hospital, in Walton, N.Y., has leveraged AOI’s professional services using Siemens OPENLink interface engine to integrate and share data with Southern Tier Health Link (STHL), a regional health information organization (RHIO). STHL is a non-profit organization that brings together healthcare providers and consumers in Central New York with technology that helps improve healthcare quality, access and safety while reducing costs. Delaware Valley Hospital’s ADT, lab, radiology and transcriptions are now integrated and actively shared with STHL, exemplifying the electronic exchange of health information as specified by meaningful use.

“As a community-based, critical access hospital, it is extremely valuable for us to be able to integrate with our local RHIO to share patient records and have instant access to important patient information, enabling our clinicians to make even more informed decisions about patient care,” said Paul Summers, chief financial officer at Delaware Valley Hospital. “AOI’s healthcare technology integration expertise and professional project management have been instrumental in Delaware Valley moving toward achieving meaningful use and continuing to provide excellent healthcare in our community.”

Delaware Valley relied on AOI to manage the project from start to finish, provide informed counsel and complete the implementation so the hospital’s IT staff could focus on key day-to-day initiatives.

“Delaware Valley is a great example of a hospital that is eliminating data silos and contributing to the advancement of patient care by connecting to a RHIO,” said Marc C. Andiel, CEO and co-founder of AOI. “AOI looks forward to a lasting partnership with Delaware Valley Hospital as it extends its integration initiatives within the hospital to streamline clinical workflows, capture real-time patient information and support more robust electronic patient records.”
