CVS Health partners with providers on electronic health information

Four health providers will partner with CVS Health to allow communication between electronic health records and the pharmacy, according to a company announcement.

Through the affiliation, CVS Health will feed prescription and MinuteClinic visit information into EHRs at Sutter Health in California, Millennium Physician Group in Florida, Bryan Health Connect in Nebraska and Mount Kisco Medical Group in New York.

"In this era of healthcare reform, we are pleased to work with these healthcare organizations to develop collaborative programs that enhance access to patient care," Troyen A. Brennan, M.D., chief medical officer at CVS Health, said in the statement. "By allowing our electronic health records and information systems to communicate and share important information about the patients we collectively serve, we will have a more comprehensive view of our patients."
