Cleveland Clinic, Mayo among 'most admired' institutions for IT use

Five hospital systems were listed by senior executives in all industry as being among the most admired companies making IT a competitive advantage, according to a recent report published by Gartner. The list included Cleveland Clinic, Hospital Corporation of America, Intermountain Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente and Mayo Clinic.

Among the key takeaways of the report, according to Forbes: complacency can be hazardous. "While not directly stated, Gartner warns IT departments not to become complacent over time," the article states. "It's imperative for CIOs to keep challenging their organizations to stay intensely focused on new developments, seeking out how they can be used to strengthen business strategies." Article
