> Researchers with the Indianapolis-based Regenstrief Institute talked at this week's American Medical Informatics Association symposium about recent changes made to their "Gopher" computerized physician order entry system, Healthcare IT News reports. Among advances highlighted by researchers with the institute were dynamic alerting based on clinical relevance to the needs of specific patients, and a "Google-like search function" for patient charts. > New York-based media company Hearst Corp. will acquire Seattle-based Milliman Care Guidelines LLC, which independently creates evidence-based clinical guidelines and software for provider organizations and health plans. The move, according to an announcement, puts Hearst--which also owns clinical decision support vendor Zynx Health and drug reference vendor First Databank--in a better position to serve accountable care organizations.
