CareTech Solutions, an information technology and Web products and services provider for more than 200 U.S. hospitals announced today that the company’s new charitable giving program, CareTech Cares, generated cash donations of $550 to The American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and The American Cancer Society. The donations are the result of CareTech’s HIMSS13 booth activity in New Orleans.

“The CareTech Cares donation program is off to a good start based on the response at HIMSS,” said Colleen Hanley, vice president, Marketing, Communications and Government Affairs, CareTech Solutions. “We will continue the program at all trade shows this year with the hope that by redirecting the monies we would have spent on booth trinkets, which usually go in the trash, our brand will now make a more personal connection with the people we get to meet at trade shows.”

In lieu of receiving a trinket, all visitors to HIMSS13 booth #1911 were invited to throw Mardi Gras beads into one of three containers; one each for the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and the American Cancer Society. Each bead was worth one dollar and at the conclusion of the conference each charity received a donation from CareTech Solutions in the amount of the number of beads collected and matched by the company.
