Capital Health System, Inc. Chooses MDaudit™ Hospital

Audit automation software to improve compliance process, reduce coding risk

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hayes Management Consulting announced today that it will provide its MDaudit™ Hospital software to Capital Health System, Inc. MDaudit™ Hospital enables a proactive approach to risk mitigation in a time of dramatically increased government oversight (RAC, OIG, etc.).

“Even if an organization is performing concurrent utilization review, compliance audits still need to be conducted,” says Stephen Miller, Compliance Officer at Capital Health. “There are areas in which judgment is needed, such as medical necessity for a short stay. We look for patterns, and system breakdowns, and then fix the underlying problems. MDaudit Hospital enables us to meet our goals without adding staff.”

Miller says that the Compliance Program helps provide the Finance Department with a valuable product: ‘Billing Quality Assurance.’ By improving controls and reducing the opportunity for violation of payment rules, the program supports the finance function, which requires some level of assurance that it won't have to return payments received. Compliance supports finance with quality audits that improve the percentage of retained revenue.

MDaudit Hospital and its counterpart for physician practices, MDaudit Professional, are used by healthcare organizations to increase audit production, streamline and standardize the compliance process and quickly assess their exposure to risk.

“MDaudit allows healthcare organizations to assess their coding risks at a deeper level and in near real-time,” says Andrew Treanor, Vice President of Software Solutions at Hayes, “The more insight healthcare organizations have into their risk, the more they can be proactive about reducing it.”
