ApeniMED Elects Charles Birmingham to Board of Directors

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ApeniMED, a leader in healthcare connectivity, today announced that Charles D. Birmingham, Vice President of Corporate Development of CareMore Medical Enterprises, has been elected to the ApeniMED Board of Directors. Birmingham also serves on the Board of Directors of National Healthcare Services, a hospital-based venture capital fund.

Birmingham brings years of experience in the healthcare industry and, in his role at CareMore Health Plan, a division of WellPoint, he also serves as the GM of a rapidly expanding Medicare Special Needs plan for frail seniors. Prior to joining CareMore, Birmingham was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Accenx Technologies, a venture-capital funded company that provided health information exchange, interoperability and master data management services to large health systems nationwide.

Birmingham holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a BS in Psychology from St Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
