Zotec Partners and Northwest Ohio’s Largest Radiology Group Sign Long-Term Contract

Toledo Radiological Associates moves from in-house billing to outsourcing to gain access to critical practice data that will enable more informed business decisions for future growth

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Zotec Partners, an industry leader in medical billing, practice management, and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) software and services, announces today that Toledo Radiological Associates (TRA), out of Toledo, Ohio, has inked a multi-year contract with the company for billing services. TRA previously performed billing in-house, but after an in-depth analysis, the group realized outsourcing to Zotec Partners provides a more efficient and cost-effective solution.

“When it came time to update our licensed billing technology, we had some major concerns with the complexity of keeping billing operations in-house,” said Rick Wagner, practice administrator of Toledo Radiological Associates. “Zotec Partners has capabilities that we simply could never match while performing billing on our own. After speaking with a handful of references, both physicians and practice administrators, we were totally comfortable and confident with the decision to outsource to Zotec Partners.”

TRA has served Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan as the largest radiology group since 1929. The group is comprised of 28 highly specialized, board-certified radiologists, who are fellowship trained in seven radiology subspecialties; neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, body (including cardiac imaging), pediatrics, nuclear medicine (including PET/CT), interventional, and women's imaging.

“While our group is big enough to do our own billing, the changing economic landscape is making it very difficult for radiology practices to manage billing in-house,” said Wagner. “Zotec Partners has the resources to do things we cannot duplicate at a reasonable cost, such as their process and technology. We could have licensed their software or stuck with our antiquated technology, but it wouldn’t be nearly as efficient and cost-effective.”

Zotec’s EBC Decision Support software was a big selling point for TRA. This robust reporting module enables the group to drill down into its system information. EBC Decision Support provides radiology-specific business intelligence to TRA’s database, allowing the group to effectively data mine, drill down, chart, and analyze its data in a robust and meaningful way.

“Our system gives medical practices more information that will help them make future plans and decisions,” said David Law, partner, sales and marketing for Zotec Partners. “With access to the Decision Support reporting tool, TRA gains instant and real-time metrics for pertinent practice information, enabling the group to more proactively manage its business.”
