Veeva Systems Introduces New Regulated Content Management Solution for Life Sciences

New Veeva Vault™ solution delivers streamlined content management functionality in the cloud

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Veeva Systems introduces Veeva Vault™, the first cloud-based, regulated content management system built specifically for the life sciences industry. Veeva Vault solves the complex content management challenges facing life sciences organizations today by combining streamlined functionality for compliance and collaboration with the flexibility and cost effectiveness of a cloud computing-based solution. The new product was unveiled at the Drug Information Association (DIA) Electronic Document Management conference today in National Harbor, MD.

Content management is one of the largest areas of technology spend for life sciences companies, but today’s leading solutions are based on technology that is decades old. Built using the latest in cloud-computing technologies, Veeva Vault will deliver on the promise of deploying a flexible content management system across the entire company, spanning promotional materials management, R&D submissions, quality and manufacturing, and clinical trials. Vault will also be affordable for companies of all sizes, providing even the smallest life sciences companies with the enterprise-level content management functionality they desire.

“The life sciences business environment has changed dramatically over the last ten years, yet content management applications have not,” remarked Jennifer Goldsmith, vice president, Veeva Vault. “Vault gives life sciences organizations the power to take control over their content management needs in a way that simply was not possible in the past. I’m excited to bring this innovation to life sciences companies of all sizes.”

“There are probably dozens of ways that traditional content management systems can be improved upon – they need to become simpler to use and safer and more reliable. But, accessibility to a single system by all departments is paramount,” commented Ian Talmage, senior VP, global strategic marketing at Bayer Schering Pharmaceuticals.

Veeva Vault is the second product line for Veeva Systems and follows Veeva’s successful four-year track record in the life sciences industry. In 2007, Veeva introduced the first cloud-based CRM system designed specifically for life sciences organizations. Today, Veeva CRM supports tens of thousands of users globally, including ten of the top twenty largest global pharmaceutical companies.

Peter Gassner, CEO of Veeva Systems added, “Our customers need to develop and commercialize their products quickly and accurately to improve the lives of patients and meet the needs of shareholders. Regulated content is critical to the research, development, production, and marketing processes in the life sciences industry. Vault is a dramatically more effective way to manage regulated content.”
