VA officials trying to sell Congress on HealtheVet

Officials at the Veterans Administration are trying to persuade Congress to restore funding for the HealtheVet program, the scheduled upgrade to the agency's massive computer network.  For now, it looks as though they may have a tough time of it, following the controversy over a report critical of the project.  Critics are arguing that last year's failure of a $272 million pilot deployment of the Core Financial and Logistics system known as CoreFLS is evidence the VA lacks the management expertise to do the job alone.  The Tampa Tribune reports an investigation of possible fraud in the CoreFLS debacle is underway.
