University HealthSystem Consortium Selects Telesoft to Provide Telecommunication Auditing Services

OAK BROOK, Ill., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) today announced that it has awarded a 3-year single-source agreement to Telesoft Corporation for telecommunication auditing services. The agreement, which has 2 optional 1-year renewal periods, became effective on September 1, 2010.

Telesoft, based in Phoenix, Ariz, is a leading supplier of telecom software and services with 25 years of experience. It provides a complete historical audit of telecommunication services, including voice, data, and wireless infrastructure, to uncover billing errors and recover credits and refunds. Telesoft analysts have found that vendor billing errors can account for 5% to 15% of an organization's telecommunication spend. In addition, Telesoft provides recommendations for reduction of fixed and mobile telecom costs.

Telesoft operates on a no-risk contingency model for auditing services. Customers pay nothing up front; Telesoft receives a percentage of recovered savings. Telesoft has documented $159 million in savings to customers since its inception.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for members to save money and recover overcharges. An additional benefit is that members pay nothing for the service," said Jake Groenewold, UHC senior vice president, Supply Chain. "Telesoft takes on the laborious task of analyzing all the bills and working with the telecommunications suppliers to dispute the errors and get refunds or credits owed to the customer," he added.

Telesoft's services include:

  • Audit: Review invoices for accuracy, dispute overbillings, submit claims for and ensure receipt of refunds and credits
  • Optimization Analysis: Make recommendations for reducing telecommunication expenses
  • Telecom Expense Management: Manage invoices, track usage, enforce mobile policy, manage assets

"Telesoft's many years of auditing experience have enabled us to retrieve hundreds of millions of dollars in refunds and credits for our customers," said Robert J. Sullivan, Telesoft's founder and executive vice president. He added, "We are thrilled with the opportunity to work with UHC to help its members recuperate these long overdue monies, as well as reduce their future telecom costs. We anticipate that our agreement with UHC will be the start of a successful long-term partnership that will benefit each and every participating member."
