TransEngen Strengthens Position as Payments Leader for Healthcare

WILTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TransEngen, Inc., a leading provider of transaction processing solutions for healthcare, announced it has expanded its payments footprint to include patient kiosks and IVR, thereby extending its technology into additional avenues for patient payment collections and management. TransEngen, which already distributes its solutions through the industry’s leading processors, Independent Sales Organizations and practice management systems, is accelerating penetration of additional distribution channels.

“Because we work with the leading processors and offer best of breed patient payment technology in a scalable product we are finding ever increasing ways to deploy our payment technology for providers across the healthcare continuum,” said Gregory Morris, President and CEO of TransEngen. ”In the end, it’s all about making patient collections as easy, stress-free and efficient as possible.”

Atlanta-based Clearwave Corporation® will leverage TransEngen’s virtual payment portal to process payments and post patient transaction data in real time back into a provider’s practice management system. Clearwave believes the partnership advances its mission to provide technology that improves administrative operations, patient satisfaction and provider revenue cycle management.

“Because patients are now financially responsible for approximately 30% of their visit, it is important for providers to be able to quickly and easily improve time of service collections as well as post visit collections. TransEngen’s ability to work on multiple platforms including numerous practice management systems and processors to link payment functionality and transactional data with a provider’s practice management system is a huge win for our customers,” said Brian Stone, CFO of Clearwave.

In addition, TransEngen is collaborating with Revenue Advantage®, a Seattle-based company specializing in IVR, which allows for patient balances to be collected over the phone. Similar to Clearwave, TransEngen’s technology will be deployed to process payments over the phone and then post transactional data into the provider’s practice management system.

TransEngen also announced the new release of its core product, the Revenue Maximizer, which is used by more than 30,000 healthcare providers nationwide. This release includes several upgrades including email notification, which automatically allows providers to send emails to patients notifying them of payment status. In addition, other enhancements include upgrades to the patient estimate functionality, expanded navigational features and general system upgrades.
