THOMSON REUTERS ACQUIRES PROFSOFT, INC.

Ann Arbor, MI  January 25, 2010 - Thomson Reuters has acquired ProfSoft, Inc., a healthcare technology company that provides health plans with analytic software and services to assess physician and hospital performance.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"ProfSoft's solutions will enhance the clinical performance measurement capabilities we provide to our healthcare payer customers," said Jon Newpol, executive vice president of the Healthcare & Science business of Thomson Reuters. "It has a strong track record in creating evidence-based clinical rules, which are designed to help customers better understand opportunities for improving the quality and cost of care.

"ProfSoft's customers, meanwhile, will benefit from their new access to the resources of our large, global organization."

ProfSoft founder Ed Bassin, Ph.D., and other ProfSoft managers will join Thomson Reuters.
